Does Magic Johnson Own Part Of The Lakers?

Johnson took an equity position in the 12-screen multiplex movie theater in Baldwin Hills with what was then the Loews company in 1995, following some criticism that he solely invested with other people’s money (now owned by Cinemark).

Magic Johnson Enterprises, situated in Beverly Hills, previously operated four Magic Johnson Theatres, 31 Burger King locations in the Southeast, and 13 24-Hour Fitness/Magic Johnson Sport fitness clubs.

Johnson inked a multi-year marketing arrangement in March 2008 to help electronics retailer Best Buy Co. boost sales in metropolitan areas.

Johnson returned his interest in 105 Starbucks licenses to the corporation in October 2010.

The next day, he sold his 4% stake in the Los Angeles Lakers to Patrick Soon-Shiong for an estimated $27 million.
