The Kansas City Chiefs announced on October 21, 2021 that tight end Jody Fortson had been injured in the second half of the game versus Washington.

The injury was a torn Achilles tendon, and Andy Reid, the head coach, announced that the healing process had begun.

Jody Fortson had surgery to fix the Achilles tendon issue a few days later, according to coach Andy Reid.

Jody Fortson’s injury forced him to miss the remainder of the season, although he is expected to return in 2022.
