Rangers Fan Arrested – Following the Rangers‘ playoff loss on Thursday, June 9 night, a video of him violently sucker-punching a Tampa Bay Lightning fan went viral, and he was charged with assault.

Tampa Bay upset the Rangers 3-1 in the Eastern Conference final game at Madison Square Garden, taking a 3-2 lead.

Two people appeared to get into a verbal argument as fans exited the stadium after the game.

According to a video released on Twitter, the Rangers fan who was identified as Anastasio then whirled around and unleashed a devastating left punch to the Tampa supporter’s face, flattening him.

Police and security were able to apprehend James Anastasio, 29, of Staten Island, while he was still at MSG. Two counts of assault, disorderly behavior, and harassment have been filed against Anastasio.

The “heinous assault” was denounced by Madison Square Garden, which announced that Anastasio will be barred from all MSG Entertainment locations for the rest of his life.
