Recalled Jif Peanut Butter – According to the Food and Drug Administration, J. M. Smucker Co. is recalling many of its Jif peanut butter products made at a plant in Lexington, Kentucky, due to possible contamination. The commodities have lot codes 1274425 through 2140425.

According to a May 21 2022 announcement, the Food and Drug Administration is investigating a Salmonella Senftenberg pandemic in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other state and local health authorities.

The CDC reports that 14 people in 12 states have been sickened as a result of the outbreak. Two persons were admitted to hospitals. All five people who contacted the CDC reported they ate peanut butter, with four of them mentioning Jif in particular.

Consumers should not consume the recalled Jif peanut butter products, which were distributed across the country, and restaurants and businesses should not serve or sell them, according to the FDA.
