Roman Reigns is the current WWE Universal Champion and one of the company’s most popular Superstars. With tremendous character work and in-ring talents, he has proven himself to be an excellent champion.

Roman Reigns’ transformation into a heel has fully demonstrated his abilities as a performer and a character. When Roman Reigns was pushed as a top babyface for several years, he was outright rejected by the WWE Universe.

Last year’s feud between Reigns and Jey Uso, which saw them squaring off in two well-received matches and further pushed both Superstars to the top of Friday Night Smackdown, was one of the strongest stories to come from Reigns’ villain turn.

WWE Hall Of Famer Rikishi discussed the continuing “bloodline” storyline involving Roman Reigns and Rikishi’s son, Jimmy, and Jey Uso at the Steel City Comic Con. It is a very lovely thing, according to Rikishi, and their fighting isn’t really a storyline because they have been fighting since they were children.

“First and foremost, I’m proud of them [The Usos and Roman Reigns],” Rikishi remarked. “We know where they come from, what bloodline they represent, and these boys here and Roman, they’re all professionally trained, and to be able to see your family members headline SmackDown, headline WrestleMania, headline Monday Night Raw, it’s a beautiful thing, and it’s proud for us because they came in after the mighty Yokozuna. Check out WWE’s very fantastic documentary on the powerful Yokozuna if you guys haven’t already.”

“But, these men come from a family behind us, from Umaga to Yokozuna, The Rock, and the list goes on, and to see your sons and nephew out there doing it and representing and holding it down, it’s a beautiful thing. I think the narratives they’re going through right now are fantastic. That isn’t a narrative; that is them. They’ve been fighting in the backyard since they were youngsters. And now that I can do it on camera and be paid for it, I think it’s a wonderful thing. The Samoan Dynasty is on top.”

For almost a year, Roman Reigns and The Usos have been the mainstays of Friday Night Smackdown, and that is unlikely to change anytime soon, as they have truly reached new heights in the company.
