Rashidi Yekini Mother And Family

Rashidi Yekini is survived by his mother, Alhaja Sikiratu Yekini, as well as three siblings: Akeem Yekini, Ismaila Yekini, and his sister, Rofiat Yekini.

His elderly mother continues to reside in Ijagbo, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Sadly, his sister Rofiat Yekini passed away in 2014 in a tragic car accident. She was aboard an 18-seater vehicle on her way back from a business trip when it collided with a lorry along the Okuku-Oshogbo road.

His brother, Akeem Yekini, also passed away in 2018 after experiencing body pain and malaria. Ismaila Yekini is the sole surviving sibling of the late Rashidi Yekini.

In an interview on Top FM in Ibadan, the lawyer revealed that Rashidi Yekini, while he was ill, specifically instructed him to ensure that his family did not take him anywhere, as he believed it would lead to his demise. Yekini had confided in him about several unsuccessful attempts by his family to harm him.

The lawyer explained that during the days leading up to his death, Rashidi Yekini was taken by force to an herbalist in the Apete area of Ibadan by his brother Akeem and sister Rofiat. At the herbalist’s place, he was subjected to rituals, including the placement of a charm on his head, and he was physically restrained with chains.

Not long after this incident, Rofiat informed the lawyer that Yekini had passed away. She stated that he had only been given tea at the herbalist’s home, and after drinking it twice, he fell asleep, only to wake up a few hours later struggling to breathe.

Rofiat claimed that she rushed him to Al-Amin hospital in Awotan, Ibadan, Oyo State, where he ultimately passed away. The doctor’s report cited the cause of death as a cardiac arrest or heart attack.

As a Muslim, Rashidi Yekini was laid to rest promptly in Ira Offa, his birthplace in Kwara State. During his funeral, a neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, alleged that Yekini’s troubles began after a business deal with a partner who owned a currency exchange business in the Sabo area of Ibadan went sour. The neighbor also asserted that Rashidi’s cars were in poor condition, which necessitated him to frequently walk in the city.
